We're gonna take a look at how it fits here on our 2023 Jeep Gladiator. The E-Spec is gonna be very popular because of its heavy duty weight capacity. It has an 80 pound weight capacity on your Gladiator, 70 pounds if you put this on a motor home, which is gonna be a lot. Now, there are some things to keep in mind though with this type of a rack is that you do lose out on some features that you may get on lighter or more premium, meaning more pricey, bike racks. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Jeep Gladiator- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 on the back of our 2023 Jeep Gladiator. The Sherpa 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, and what that means for you it allows you to transfer your bike securely without making any contact to the frame of your bike at all. So if you have a carbon fiber bike or if you have an unconventional bike, like a step-through, this is gonna be a great way to secure it without making any contact to the frame. You're gonna have a large hook on your front wheel, and with the Sherpa you want it as close to the forks as possible, and you have a single strap on your rear wheel, and that's gonna hold your bike in place as you go down the road. A cool feature of the Sherpa 2.0 is the fact that you can pull this lever and actually tilt your bike carrier while it's loaded with bikes. You can see right here that you have full clearance to open up your tailgate without having to remove the bike from here and having any interference. more

Today, we have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you some of the cool details on the Kuat NV 2.0, more specifically when paired with the Kuat Pivot 2. Our Kuat NV 2.0 is gonna be this gloss black section here. This is our bike rack, and then our Pivot 2 is going to be the Swing Away Base. And the reason why I'm doing this fit with the Kuat on the Pivot is because that's the only way that you're gonna get to use all the functions on your Kuat bike rack, is if you use it with the Pivot base. Just to show you real quick, one of the best benefits of using the Pivot Swing Away Base with a bike rack, whether it's the Kuat or another one, is you can pull that lever and you can swing your entire bike assembly away. more

So let's take a look at this carry. The XTC2 TILT bike carrier is a frame mount carrier. So a frame mount is gonna make contact with your frame as well as locking down onto your wheels on the front and rear. In this particular setup, they're using straps and cradles. If you have a carbon fiber bike, a bike with a nice paint job that you don't want contact or any type of unconventional frame, like a step-through bike, this isn't gonna be the best option for you. more

RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Away 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the RockyMounts AfterParty on the back of our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. So, the AfterParty is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, and what's really cool about that is the fact that it does not make contact with your bike's frame. This is gonna be more for your person that has either a carbon fiber bike or a bike that has a fancy paint job, step through bike, something with an unconventional frame. Because you make contact on the front and rear wheel and there's no need to secure your bike by the frame, it leaves it wide open to many types of bikes. As far as what it will support, your weight can go all the way up to 60 pounds per bike. Your wheel base can be supported up to 55 inches. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L- Video
Good morning neighbors. This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at our Hollywood Racks Destination four bike carrier on the back of our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. So the Destination is a four bike carrier that is a frame mount style. On the frame mount, you're gonna have a center mast that makes contact with your frame as well as two straps that secure your front and rear wheel. If you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike that's a step through frame or maybe even a kid's bike, generally these guys aren't the best options. Going with a wheel mount carrier may work well, but if you have a bike that's 35 pounds and under and a maximum wheel base of 48 inches, this guy will work for you. more

So a frame mounted carrier is gonna have a center mast and a contact point with somewhere on your frame. If you have a carbon fiber bike or a bike that is a unconventional frame, this may not be the best option for you. You may wanna lean more towards a wheel mounted option. more

Now this gonna be a great option for you if you need to haul a variety of different types of bikes being from your carbon frame to your heavy E-bikes and you wanna do it safely having your built in lights installed too. What's gonna give it that ability to hold your carbon and alternative frame bikes is gonna be this dual wheel mount system we have on here and that's just gonna ratchet onto each tire and we're not gonna get any of that frame contact. We're also gonna have a 67 pound weight capacity per bike holding up the two of them. So we're gonna be able to hold those heavy E-bikes too. And we're gonna have a tote weight feature too. more

Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L- Video
Hi Matt with etrailer and today, we're gonna talk about our Yakima full tilt bike rack on our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you wanna haul a lot of bikes, especially since this is a larger vehicle and you'll be able to take a lot of people with you to go out riding. So the way our bike's gonna sit on here, we're gonna have three points of contact. We're gonna have one of these zip straps that connect to the rear of the frame, and then we're gonna have two up top, and our frame's also gonna rest on these two arms. Now since we are making frame contact, I wouldn't recommend using any alternative or carbon frame bikes on here. But if you do have an alternative frame bike, you can still put it up here, you'll just need a bike adapter bar, and the way it's just gonna sit up here is just like this. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
How's it going, this is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four-bike carrier on the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Destination is a four-bike platform carrier, and as far as being a carrier, is one of the better values to move four bikes. It is a frame mount where you're gonna have contact with your bike's frame, and then you have two straps along with the cradles that are gonna tie down to keep your wheels and everything stable. As far as how close you get to the vehicle with the bike on the closest position, you can kind of see with my handlebar here, I'm pretty close. Rocking it right here, I wouldn't be worried about it making contact, but it's something to definitely consider when you're making your purchase as far as the length of your handlebars. So let's take this guy off and take a closer look. more

Now it does have its downsides too where it has a 35 pound per bike weight capacity. So if you have a heavy electric bike, this might not be the best fit for you, but if you're looking for something that is not super duper large, but has the stability of a platform rack, this is a great option to look at. Now we are missing out on a feature here, which is gonna be the tilt away feature. more

Now, the AfterParty is going to be a pretty premium bike rack, but it has some really nice premium features to match. One thing that works really well with the Gladiator is that we actually have an integrated swing away function. So, we just go ahead and loosen this lever here, make sure that we unthread it all the way. And once we have it unthread, we just can go ahead and pull a pin here on the back allowing us to swing the whole entire bike rack away. more

Now, the Envy 2.0 is going to be a platform style bike rack able to accommodate up to two bikes with an individual weight capacity of 60 pound per bike. It does come with a tilt away feature but as we've discovered with a lot of the bike racks we have tried on our Wagoneer, it doesn't actually tilt far enough or aggressively enough for our hatch to clear our pedals and our handlebars. So, we'll give you a look at that real quick, just show you what that would look like. So, there is a handle here in the middle that we're gonna just go ahead and pull which allows us to tilt our bike rack away. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Yakima StageTwo 2-Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So the StageTwo is definitely gonna be your heavy-duty, off-road bike rack, but also, with a really good weight capacity for heavy electric bikes. Now, talking about that though, we do have this on our Jeep Wrangler with a large spare tire, so what I had to do was I had to put a hitch extension, that way, the bike rack would sit further back and I'd be able to put it on that hitch receiver. So if you want to use a bike rack, you may need to get a hitch extension too, we have some options here at etrailer. The downside of those hitch extensions is it reduces your tongue weight capacity, and you're gonna have to get a special anti-rattle for it to be secure. But with all that in mind, let's focus on this StageTwo bike rack. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rockymounts Afterparty on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Now to get in directly why we want this for the Jeep Wrangler and why this is such a good recommendation is the Rockymounts Afterparty actually comes with a swing away function. We found that most of our bike racks that have a tilt don't have enough an aggressive enough tilt to really open up on the hatch. So this swing way function is essentially going to help us correct that. Down here at the bottom of the rack, we do have this knob that when we loosen up, we are going to be able to pull a pin that is on the passenger side and go ahead and pull this away while also pivoting it. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Yakima FullTilt five bike hanging rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So the Yakima FullTilt is the bike rack I would get if I had to get a hanging rack but I wanted one of the best ones. This is what I would get. It does have a lot of premium features that make it easier for you to load the bikes up, secure the bikes. And the downside though, is that even though it tilts away like its name says, with the Jeep Wrangler not really any hanging bike can tilt back far enough for you to reasonably open up that door. So with that in mind, if you wanted full door access, I'd recommend getting something like a hitch extender or a swing away hitch extender. more

So if I wanted a hanging rack and I wanted to carry around a lot of bikes more than I could with a platform rack, but I also didn't wanna take up as much space as a platform rack would, this would be one of my options. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hello everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today I have the Thule T2 Pro XTR two-bike platform rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So the T2 Pro XTR, other than having a long name, does have some premium features that help out with carrying your bikes safely and securely. You have a good weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, but I am using this bike rack with a hitch extender and that's because when we have that spare tire on, we have it folded up, it gets a little too close and we're not getting as good of a fit which is why we have an extender to push this out. Most of your bike racks with a Jeep Wrangler with a spare tire are going to need some kind of hitch extender if you want full use out of them. But having that extender has its downsides as well, like less hitch tongue weight capacity and it has a bit more movement if you don't get one with an anti-rattle feature. So with that in mind, let's focus on the features of the T2 Pro XTR. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, I have the Saris Freedom 2-Bike Platform Rack, we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So the Saris Freedom is actually a really good fit with the Wrangler, because the spares tire limits the options for bike racks if you do not wanna use a hitch extender. So this sits pretty far back past its shank, which gives us that clearance to carry those two bikes. And if you wanna compare this with some other racks, well, this is gonna be on the still more affordable side while having a good weight capacity for electric bikes and some versatility for different sized and shaped bikes. So if you have say a large mountain bike and maybe a smaller road bike, this actually will work even better for you compared to the Saris SuperClamp, because this can go wherever while the SuperClamp wheel mounts are limited to each other. Now, focusing here on our Jeep, while we do have that clearance to add the bike on, we don't have as much clearance for things like tilting it away or opening up the door. more

Although the ramp's not attached to the rack you gotta keep it inside your vehicle and it has other features like adjustability for different types of frames. The downside though is that with how it fits on the Wrangler, it does not tilt down anywhere close to where you can open up the door. So the issue isn't the tilt, the issue is where this mast sits. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro hitch-mounted bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. It is gonna be a hanging style bike rack, capable of carrying up to four bikes and up to 35 pounds each, so a pretty good amount for most of our mountain bikes, road bikes. Just be mindful of it whenever you're loading it up that you don't exceed that. And a couple other limitations with it, because of the hanging rack and it makes contact with the frame of our bike, it's not gonna be the best fit for carbon frame bikes. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 platform style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2020 21, excuse me, Jeep Wrangler. Now one thing I wanna point out right out of the gate is that we are using this with a hitch extender. The bike rack just wasn't working without the hitch extender so what that is, it's just an extra piece that attaches in your hitch and extends it further from the vehicle. You can see it right down there. We're using the etrailer one right now and we're using about an eight inch extension. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Wrangler HR4000- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack's Destination four-bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Now this is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, holding the bike by our frame, using this cradle with a strap around it, and then two additional wheel straps down to the bottom that pull the bike down and in. That method of holding the bike actually helps get a really solid hold on the rack, which is great. This is one of my favorite bike racks to recommend for people getting into biking and looking for their first bike rack, especially if they need something for their family, because this does accommodate kids' bikes exceptionally well. It works with alternative frames very well, too, because this cradle slides up and down the mast independently from each other and rotates 360 degrees to accommodate for those alternative frames. more

Now this is gonna be a platform style bike rack and in my opinion, one of the best entry level options into the world of platform style bike racks that we offer. Great, because it's a good entry level price point, it's gonna be affordable for a lot of people but also it packs a lot of value. I think of the ones in its category it's going to be probably one of the easiest to use and very accommodating because it works great with alternative frame bikes and kids bikes and it has a 35 pound weight capacity. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Jeep Wagoneer- Video
Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, I have the Yakima StageTwo 2-Bike Platform Rack, which we'll take a look at on a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. So the StageTwo has pretty impressive weight capacity of 70 pounds per bike, it has a lot of clearance for two bikes, so whether they're the same size or different, you know it's gonna fit. Plus, this is pretty sturdy. The downside to it is it is going to be pretty heavy, and on the Wagoneer, with it being so tall, that's also a lot of height you're gonna have to lift your 70 pound bike. So we'll talk about that, we'll take some measurements focusing on this car, but the first thing we'll do is we're going to tilt this away. So there's gonna be a handle at the end that you're gonna have to pull, and then you're gonna have to let that heavy weight of the bikes come down at you, so don't get hit. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Jeep Wagoneer- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Saris Freedom Two Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. So the Freedom is going to be a steady bike rack, it's not gonna tilt away or anything like that, but it does have a lot of adjustability for different bikes of different shapes and sizes. It also has a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, which is pretty impressive for a lightweight bike rack like this. It definitely does have its downsides though. For example, with the Wagoneer, not being able to tilt away also means you can't open up the hatch unless you take the bike off. On the flip side, a lot of bike racks don't tilt the way far enough to open up the hatch anyways. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today I have the Swagman XC2 Two Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. So the XC2 is pretty popular because of how affordable an entry level it is, where you still get the stability of a platform rack without having to spend too much. So if you are looking for a bike rack where you don't have to pay extra for those bells and whistles that you may not need, this is the one that you would start with. But with this bike rack, of course, it also has its downsides, like you don't get those premium features like tilting away or included locks. And if you need one to secure your bikes and or your rack, those are things you'd have to purchase separately. Now talking about the Wagoneer though, with how it works with this vehicle, it actually creates a nice stable platform for your bikes to get them from point A to point B without too much extra work. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Jeep Wagoneer- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today I have the RockyMounts GuideRail Two-Bike Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. So the GuideRail is usually one of my preferred bike racks because it's a dual wheel mount style bike rack which you can check out the comparison of that here at etrailer, and that makes it quicker and easier to carry around bikes, mount them and dismount them. Now, with how it fits on the Wagoneer, there's some perks and some downsides to it too. Perks are you do have a premium qualities you'd expect from a premium rack, like a heavy weight capacity. Downside is that it sits really high up on the Wagoneer. But, on another hand, you also have the features like it tilts away and it actually clears the Wagoneer's big hatch. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today I have the Yakima On-Ramp Two Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. So the On-Ramp is gonna be good for your heavy electric bikes because it has an included ramp that's actually attached to the rack which is good because other bike racks that have ramps have to be stored inside of the vehicle. Now with this too you can also carry your heavier electric bikes and is one of the few bike racks that tilts far enough away so that you have hatch clearance on the Wagoneer. It does have some downsides too like there's a lot of different levers and straps that you do have to deal with so it's not as quick and easy as the Kuat NV. So let's talk about that. When we're talking about levers and pins, if we wanna tilt this bike rack away there's two pins that you have to deal with. more

It can even fit your little kids' bikes and your larger mountain bikes or step through bikes but also has some downsides. Like it only has a 35 pound weight capacity per bike and it doesn't tilt away. But for how it fits on the Wagoneer, not tilting away is actually not a bad thing because most bike racks that do tilt away don't tilt away far enough for the hatch on the Wagoneer to open up fully. more

So the Destination E is actually pretty impressive. Guess it does have its downsides where it does take a little bit more time to use, and more straps, and levers, and things like that, but honestly, for the Jeep Wagoner, this is one of the only bike racks that can tilt away far enough where you can still open up the hatch. Plus with how high up this is off of the ground, most bike racks make it a little tricky to lift your heavy electric bikes up, but this one has an included ramp. So we'll talk about features like that, and I'll show you how it does make a good fit for the Wagoneer. more
